Overview:

This ten week course will teach participants working in industrial relations and/or human resource management how to plan successful appearances before the Fair Work Commission and other industrial tribunals and develop quality advocacy skills.

It is predominantly a skills-based course, providing participants with the opportunity to experience real life situations and better build on their skills in presenting in Tribunals.

The course runs for one evening a week for 10 weeks, beginning on Wednesday 23 May and finishing on Wednesday 25 July. UTS Business School runs this course in conjunction with the Industrial Relations Society of NSW, with support from the Fair Work Commission.

Presenters:

The course is convened by FWC Deputy President Sams, and presented by Anthony Britt and Anthony Howell. Both are practising employment/workplace relations barristers.  The course is conducted at the Fair Work Commission, 80 William Street Sydney

Course Outcomes:

This is a skills-based course and on completion, you will have experience through practice moot sessions (chaired by current FWC members) in preparing and presenting a case before an industrial tribunal. The program also includes three moots, when participants will have an opportunity to practise their skills in front of current members of the Fair Work Commission and other tribunals.
